- Have to 'wash' toilets, not as in scrubbing the shitty pot with brushes but just keep it dry =/ once reach destination they have cleaners to clean it. (Yucks. Ive never washed toilets before and will never in my entire life. But not so bad la, not as in scrubbing ma right? =/)

- Like every other working environment, politics and scandals- unavoidable. But well personally i feel this is very much dependent on the individual. Read below:

i really wanted this so bad at one point of time... seriously, After each round i'd be so so so happy and just before the next selection round i'd be just so nervous and asking questions to so many on this forum to prepare myself... At the end of the day. the life of a flight attendant is not so great after all... Its scary bcoz i just joined... You get 'zapped' (term for seniors bullying the juniors) , the passengers are extremely demanding and annoying....managing the crew is more difficult than dealing w the passengers.... the pay is the only motivation. On my last flight, a poor junior got wriiten in by the chief for having light make-up and messy hair. Wat i dont understand is that all the other seniors had lighter makeup! According to the grooming guide, we must be wearing either cool or warm, whiecher was assigned to u during training days. However, you'll realise tht most of the stewardesses are using pink/purple/gold... and so many other pastel lip colours... Being junior means ur scrutinised top to toe. you have a 'P' next to ur name during the 1st 6months of flying and you'll be on the bottom of the crew name list if you're most junior. (Most junior means uve to cal up everyone to org lunch / dinner meetings....collect tips fr everyone to give the bus driver etc) Have to also add tht there r crew who r damn nice too.... For me...i just cant wait for my probation to end....and my bond too. Its just ironic thinking that THIS is wat i wanted so much last time...

- Interview process about the same:
4 stages:::
Hi there, with regards of silkair's interview it isn't difficult.
I recalled my previous interview with them.We were group in 10s where I was the last one to be interviewed among the 10 girls in that group.
I came slightly prepared because I've a friend who was working with SATS and she told me that when they ask you to introduced yourself, they are gonna give you only 30secs though they never tell you about it.
Preferably, say things like

1. Where are you currently working - need not go into it, they arent really keen about it

2. Simple hobbies - do no tell them you like reading books, they will think you are an indoor person

3. Passion to fly - not your dream. Who cares if its your dream. They are looking for your passion, not your dream.

4. If you are selected, you will not let this airline down.

As long as you speak within 30 secs, you are in.
They choose 5 outta the 10 of us. I was the 1st for the one for one interview. Try to ask for your interviewers name and answer them truthfully.I was told to read a passage for her. She then asked me why did I try for Silkair and not other airline - I told her because its a turn around flight, I like that. She then asked me about my previous work place, why didnt I stay on and stuff. Answered her truthfully. Eventually thank her and of cuz thank her by her name.
Finally she asked me if i had any questions to ask her. I was pretty dumb, i didnt ask her but nonetheless i was short listed for the uniform fitting.
But sadly, during the uniform fitting, i didnt make it due to a scar i've on my left leg. She asked if it was a bite or birthmark. I told her that it was a bike mark.. Hahaha. When they rejected me, i did went back to ask why wasn't i chosen and they actually let me know..But this allowed me to go for other airlines which have uniforms tt will cover my scar. =)
I hope this helps

People u did'nt expect, got in. People u expected, booted out!

For my group which i tried twice, Chinese were last of their choices. Today all Malays from my group got in again, even their intro were just so plain. i know i am stronger as i passed before too but just Unlucky, so unlucky.
Sorry not being racist, i believe they have a quota for the number of each individual race. i was just unlucky.

Above from Singapore Expat Forum.

- They have ethic ratio allocation just like HDB! =/
--------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway. I've been thinking. When the respective airlines put up a recruitment notice, MANYY will flock towards that destination and queue up for the interview..

It's not easy to get in, and somehow resembles the kind of situation back in the Han Dynasty........

206 BCE to 220 CE....

practice lasted for 1300 years in China.....

THE IMPERIAL EXAM (Except, with much much more intellect, hee)

and yes you get lots and lots of backstabbing in the palace..
scandals i believe also will happen from the palace maids....
gossip rumours whatever -
paiseh, this is the kind of side effect by watching too much dvds.

see so many people!
